Errr, I don't see what this has to do with the bug I've found out. It's seems obvious that if you have a weapon with better range than the planet's one the planet has no chances. Even if the ship and planet both have CSM I the ship'll win because it can move out of range while planet is stationary.

Really. The bug which I found affects only the range penalty modifier. But I tested only with direct fire weapons so you can be right.

I won't say it's a feature when in (tactical) combat it shows for example range 8 but you still get -110% range modifier.

I tested this and yes it's true. It depends from where you're attacking but you have to be at least 1-2 squares nearer the planet than you should considering the weapon's range.
