Re: Starblaszers Ship Sets (EDF / Gamilon)
Sweet set, man. I think those may be the sharpest more desirable set Space Empires ships I have ever seen.
Though, in a terribly unimportant way that does not smudge how well the ships and fighters and everything look, I have some trouble telling the Small from Medium Weapons Platforms. It is possible there is some detail that I simply didn't notice, but I thought I let you know what I thought.

Also, escort and frigate mini images are too big, IMHO. There should be more transition to bigger ships.

Re: Starblaszers Ship Sets (EDF / Gamilon)
This set is fantastic PCP. I like it a lot, by far some of your best work. I think the ships all look well sized, given they are all basically cigar shaped.
Are you going to make any other SB sets?

Re: Starblaszers Ship Sets (EDF / Gamilon)
That is an AWESOME shipset.
1. How do you create these pictures??
2. Did you know that Starblazers has a nice looking tactical game (ala Star Fleet Battles), a Technical Manual with descriptions of most of the ships from the 3 races with pictures (ala Battletech) and miniatures: http://members.aol.com/neghvar2/index.htm
3. constructive critizism: the fighters fit the look of the rest of the shipset, but not so much the Starblazers look. The troops are way off. At the risk of of sounding ungrateful, is there any chance you could change them?
As odd as it might be, I'd be willing to send you a copy of the technical manual that I have so you can see the tanks, ships, etc. I'd concider it a payment for services of making this awesome shipset, and hope that it might spur you to tweak this (my new favorite) shipset.

I talk about it a bit on my web site, http://galileo.spaceports.com/~william/main.htm but basically I map out my image, adding, subtracting items and things until I have what I hope is the best looking copy of the image I am working on. I think spend time adding details and other aspects. Since I did not have a large ship library to go on, I had to employ some creative license with several of the ships, carriers, transports, fighters, etc.

I did not know this, and thank you for posting the link. This is great info.

Thank you, I too hate the troops for this set, but had nothing to go on so I used what I had. I would love to change them. As for the fighters, all I really need is a good image or two of alternate fighters.

Thank you for the offer, but if you can just scan the images or take a digital picture of them, and send that or tell me where, if not at the above listed web site, where I can get a copy I will buy my own.
I would love to make other sets for this series. I have loved the show since I was a kid, and even though it is kinda corny now, I still enjoy it a lot.

Will do on the scan. I'll do them this weekend and post a link on Monday. They are black and white, but detailed. IIRC, they also give ship names and designations. Maybe I'll do a shiplist.txt...
You can find that book and the game both on some of those links, but I can't find a nice, neat "click here to purchase" site. I actually found the tech manual at a SciFi book store/gaming store in Harvard Square, Cambridge.
I also found a place Online that sells the 3rd series, which I never saw on TV. First was Quest for Iscandar, then the Comet Empire, and third was The Bolar Wars. I bought the 1st DVD in the Bolar Wars just yesterday, probably show up in a week.

What program do you use to make these sets?
Thanks again for the EDF!
