You can turn those off. 
Actually, you could use those systems to create a challange against the AI. It gets to build up for decades while you develop and build a WP opener. |

spiderweb. or something made with k'nex, when somebody got bored.
if you don't know what k'nex are, think tinkertoys, only more elaborate. if you don't know what tinkertoys are, think of constructs. if you don't know what constructs are, i've run out of things to compare them to.
