OT - Thoughts on the Honor Harrington series

Didnt Honor use pods because they didnt have any real ships? and that since it had been so long that anyone had tried to do something like that, Honor pulled a rabbit out of her hat and wyped out them damn Peeps. I like his politics (in HH), I can get as wound up with them dips that are running Manticore (as of the recent book) as our so called peace-nik politions

Actually, I think(its been a while since I read short vicotrious war) While the pods were an old technology, the missile lanchers were the big thing. BuWeps, actually developed a smaller launcher allowing regular missiles to be installed into the pods, and still keep their range. Then the SD(P)'s came out, talk about ouch.

Seems to be that missile pods are exactly like Devnull's externally mounted CSMs, the idea being to launch a heck of lot of missiles in the first salvo, nothing very complicated.

Just finished "In Enemy Hands" (Honor lost an arm!?!) and starting "Echoes of Honor" now.

LOL, i can't believe all you peeps havent read the all!

damn, get the damn hardcovers from the library if resources are low!

better yet, i bought the hardcover which came with a cd with ALL the books in html :-D

Are you talking about Crown of slaves? I think that is the latest book in the HH universe, as far as I remember that Last book that had Honor herself was War of Honor, really good book btw.

So what do you think Manticore is going to do now that the Peeps are on the Offensive, with twice the warships of the Manticore Alliance. I think that the lighter ships will begint to play a bigger role, being they are now armed with missile pods both internal and along the top and bottom.

Then again, I could be wrong

but from what i've read so far, its not about HH

DAMN

but still, it seems like it takes place during the Last HH book, War of Honour

as to what will happen for future fleet battles, it seems pretty clear that advanced missles and EW and lacs / fighters will be the winning combo...

esp with sidewalls in the front and back of the usually 'open' wedges which are weak

its really pretty cool - the tech in HH
