Funny log Messages
I renamed one of my planets in "The Hunt" to remind the player who invaded my home system that per the rules of the game, all my base would belong to him if he took my homeworld, and that it would be more efficient to bomb my homeworld FIRST, rather than glassing all my other planets... well, look what I got in my log the next turn...
Production Minister: 31 Gjovik's have been built at Yoo-hoo! This is my homeworld! Did you forget that if you take my homeworld you get all my other planets? in the Xentronium Home System system, sire.

Re: Funny log Messages
Player 1 - Someone
I grant you the ownership of Macaboo III if you accept this peace treaty.
TURN PROCESSED
Player 2 - Me
Oh you mean the planet I just glassed? Na, I prefer something else.
TURN PROCESSED
Player 1 -
Very well, you drive a hard bargin, I offer you Macaboo Prime as trade for accepting this peace treaty.
TURN PROCESSED
Player 2 - Me
Well I would accept say for the fact that Macaboo Prime is now devoid of life. Perhaps another planet, something not in the Macaboo system. Perhaps a homeworld class planet.
TURN PROCESSED
Player 1 -
We offer you the only homeworld planet we have, Tebo IV. Now will you accept this peace treaty?
TURN PROCESSED
Player 2 -
I accept.
Not exactly to scale on the turns, but you get the jist of it. I think someone should have explained to him that you only get one homeworld planet on a 1 planet start. That player is no longer in the game.

Re: Funny log Messages
I will always have a fond memory of this one message that I got from an AI empire the first night I was trying out the SEIV demo. My son and I were playing a hotseat game on my PC, and an AI ally of mine had just declared war against my son. I sent a message to the AI ally asking that he make peace with my son, and got back this little gem: "What? You would hold us back against the murderous Panda Confederation? Do not stand in our way, Grand Admiral SpaceBadger!" This just struck us as incredibly hilarious, so much that we were still chuckling over it later when I was putting him to bed.
OK, I know now that it was just a canned message from one of the AI files, with our game names filled in at the appropriate spots by wildcards, but that was the first we'd ever seen of that sort of thing and it was amazing! I got Online to Shrapnel and ordered the game the very next morning, and we still continued to play the demo in every spare moment until the real thing arrived.

Ah, don't! Remember: "We've made too many compromises already, too many retreats! He invades our space and we fall back -- he assimilates entire worlds and we fall back! Not again! The line must be drawn here -- this far, no further! And I will make him pay for what he has done!" - Desperate star ship captain

Re: Funny log Messages
Master of Orion PBW, end game. It was something like that.
Unknown_Enemy : We have to coordinate our fleets to resist EvilRich's onslaught. I am assembling a fleet...long-bla-bla-bla... What do you think ?
Alpha Kodiak : All we'll be able to coordinate is to die together.

Re: Funny log Messages
I was trying out the old Sci-Fi Crossover mod, playing (in SP mode) as the Star Wars Empire. My closest neighbor was the Federation. They proposed a trade treaty and I accepted, but the message I sent was : "You are a powerful ally, Admiral Picard. Join me and together we will rule the Galaxy."
That was the moment SEIV surpassed MoO2 in my Best Space Games list.
