Actually the redirect page at seiv.pbw.cc is down now. I am not sure what's up with that. The actual temp site that you get redirected to is up still. That's at home.covad.net/~geoschmo
You should be able to get that to work Gpa. Let me know.

Re: PBW server is back up.
Anyone else get the feeling Geo lives in an area were there is one and only one provider of high speed net access? I'll bet with a bit of healthy competition the connection could be moved just a wee bit faster. |

And what have we learned from this? Never, NEVER, believe ANYTHING the phone company tells you about its DSL service. NEVER

Re: PBW server is back up.
Actually there are several options for highspeed service in my area. Unfotunatly the one I have is the only one that I could find that had the combinatiion of features I needed for PBW, good upload speed, fixed IP, permission to run a web server 24x7, a low enough monthly cost to make it possible to support via voluntary donations. If all I wanted was highspeed access for my own personal use I could take my pick of several decent choices in the area.

Re: PBW server is back up.

What I learned is if you are moving your DSL, get a new phone number at the new location. I thought I was doing the right thing keeping the old number. It turns out if I had gotten a new number they could have turned on the one without turning off the other and the down time would have been shorter. Unfotunatly by the time I asked the right questions It was too late to do that because I had to have the server out of the old place anyway by a certain date.Quote:
