Re: Funny Starfury Moments
Ed, i think this post on the se4 forum is ok
it is just a '3d-gui' for se4 anyway right?
I downloaded the demo but it crashes way way too much on my system for me to really 'play' it :/
I hope they fix those problems soon, it looks fun

Re: Funny Starfury Moments
..I love to creep up behind pirates at full throttle and deplete their aft shields, pulverise their aft armor, and mash their hull till they die... but more often than not, once their armor is gone, I manage to utterly destroy their engines. they come to an abrupt halt and I always fail to hit the breaks. I ram, I die.
I always feel like a goof, but sure enough, I reload and do it again, and again,...
Cheers!

Re: Funny Starfury Moments
it generally takes me a several shots to destroy all there engines, so i generally have time to slow down.

You mean they stop moving when their engines are gone, rather than continuing along their Last vector? Yeah, that would be kinda counter-intuitive... but I guess it copies SE4 physics rather well...

Re: Funny Starfury Moments
platehead: 'why do you move?'
aristoped: 'why, because the engines make you move.'
platehead: 'so, naturally, what happens when you don't have any engines?'
aristoped: 'you don't move!'
and i'm pretty sure you can all guess who platehead and aristoped are brainless mangling's of.
no insult to MM or Aaron hall intended. when your making a game, you have to make it fun, in a time frame, within a budget and realistic, in that order.

Re: Funny Starfury Moments
I'm in a hot dogfight with several ships and I am chasing a heavily damaged cruiser. Suddenly a huge battleship closes in and I break off pursuit by taking a hard right... and promptly run off the system grid.
By the time I return to the grid and flee, I am now more heavily damaged then my prey!
