Maybe it would comfort you to know that most of the best players run mineral deficits for a (relatively) long time... those initial resources help a lot.

Well that would explain why you seem to think your bonuses are acting in reverse, and this is not the first time you have claimed such things.

Maybe you are misunderstanding how the maintenance ability works and using it in reverse? Try the other way once. Give yourself a 'maintenance penalty' and see how that looks.

He said he had it set to impressive, so I doubt it. Most likely its just a game to game difference in the amount of planets with good mineral values.

Man I do not know what I am doing wrong, I ma loosing this game hand over fist.

I just lost a fleet of 76 ships to his fleet of 60. He just had better ships. I took out two of his 5 starting planets though.
