Re: Do You Ever Get Tired Of Playing SEIV?
I have phases of more or less interest, but like most people here I always come back to SE:IV!

Re: Do You Ever Get Tired Of Playing SEIV?
I'll play this game for awhile, then I'll go to Galactic Civilizations for a slightly different change of pace, then I might go to a RPG or Civ 3 (I know, I know, some of you hate this game, but I like it) or RollerCoaster Tycoon 2. But I always go back to SE4G. I especially like that I can play the game when I'm on the internet. Passes the time when you got those long downloads. But this is my favorite game ever since I bought it, and I can't imagine life without it.

Re: Do You Ever Get Tired Of Playing SEIV?
Last night was the first time I have fired it up in over 9 months.
Of course I had RL distractions, and GalCiv, Tropico I, Tropico II, Rail Road Tycoon II, STARS!, Star Fury, etc...

Re: Do You Ever Get Tired Of Playing SEIV?
I at one time got burnt out on playing SEIV. That time period Lasted about 2 or 3 months I think and it was before I started playing on PBW. Once I came back I decided to join PBW and see what it was like, I loved it and have never stopped since. I was in as many as 12 games at one time and have been in many others that have since ended. As long as PBW is around I will be playing SEIV.
But I need to find some time to play single player so I can get back into my story that I was writing (see sig). I will have to read the entire story from beginning again to gather my thoughts and remember just where I was going with it. But thankfully I have alot of notes and ideas still stored in a text file somewhere.

Re: Do You Ever Get Tired Of Playing SEIV?
Yep, haven't played in 3 months. Currently playing CIV 3. I am also eyeing Dominions 2. Looks like an equally addictive game. Once again some low budget low key guys with nothing to do in Norway put down the yummy rotten fish and decided to make a good game. I think Ed Kolis hangs out in that forum too. But keep coming back to this forum. Lots of good smart people here.

Re: Do You Ever Get Tired Of Playing SEIV?
For myself, I've been playing SE?? for quite a while and I tend to go on "binges" for a month or two then leave it alone for a month or two. When I binge, I'll play at minimum 3 hour episodes at least 4 times a week. But to be honest, I think SEIV is the only game I've played for over a year (except maybe a few games of FreeCell on the work PC ).

Re: Do You Ever Get Tired Of Playing SEIV?
I'm a lot like rdouglass when it comes to SEIV. But until very recently I had never tried PBW. The only trouble with that is that, so far, I find it grindingly slow.
Right now, I'm about to win another single player game, using the TDM Modpack. I've just eliminated the Ukra Tal by surrender, and have stolen another three or four systems from the Terrans. The writing is on the wall now...
When I finish this game I will let single player mode rest for a while, and just play on PBW (which it seems will much less time consuming).
I don't have a large collection of these sort of games, but I do occasionally go through my CDs and fish out "Outpost" (Sierra). There's something about that one that still appeals to me, as old as it is.
