In my case, it's Lilo & Stitch and the Wiggles. The best two kids cds I get to listen to are:
Laurie Beckman: Buzz Buzz
They Might Be Giants: No
I find myself listening to them in the car even when the Girl isn't there. Which I'm sure is a sign of mental decline. Anyway, if you have kids, I recommend you pick those up!
If you don't have kids, you sissies should be listening to Ween My wife has been buying some gospel tapes for him to listen in the car. It does calm him down. Hey, if that's the music to calm the savage beast, what can I say?

Re: OT - Favorite Music?
For me it depends on the mood and occassion
1. Workout music - rock or rap
2. reading or writing - Jazz or classical music
3. cruising in my car - hip/hop mostly
4. playing war games at home (tabletop either miniatures or avalon hill type ) - Movie sound tracks ie : Braveheart, Glory, Excalibur and Conan the Barbarian just to name a few
as you can see a wide variety

Re: OT - Favorite Music?
Ween, it seems to me, is intentionally pissing me off. For some reason it feels very personal... so I don't care for that.
But some good, four-part harmony a capella gospel is, in fact, soothing music. It's a real shame that the only place a cappella seems to have in secular music is R&B. There's so much you can do with it that R&B never does.
[edit: Looks like I was wrong. It's R&B and collegic. Check these tunes.]

I agree with you. Emotion is not the only component of good music. However, music without emotion is not music at all. Anyways, what sort of music do YOU like? Do you even like anything at all? Or do you simply enjoy belittleing the opinions of others, while keeping your preferences secret to aviod other people criticizing your choice of music?

Opera? Nooooooooooooo...........

Re: OT - Favorite Music?
I have used music for years to affect how people think, feel when they watch productions. Music is as much a part of life as air.

Opera? Nooooooooooooo........... Yeah, Opera. Waltz is good too. I remember have three discs of Strauss in the changer while playing Duke Match (multiplayer Duke Nukem 3D) for hours at a time.
Invigorating.
