Very well said.

AST mod uses most of the STOCK seiv technology with some race specific technology.

STM is a complete conVersion from graphics to the tech tree.

Both mods are differant enough that they do not compete.

STM is better suited to PBW games than the AST mod.

Play them both and you will see the differances.

Are both MODS still being worked on? For a newbie, which MOD is better to play with for starters?

I'm a huge Star Trek, Star Wars fan, so both MOD's are high on my list once I get SEIV Gold.

AST is more similar to stock se4, so it is easier to get accustomed to.

The Star Trek Mod is always being worked on. It is a never ending project. Even after I give up on it and move on to something else, someone else will pick up the peaces and move on.

The AST mod is also now being worked on again. I am helping when I have time, but mostly CNC is doing the work on it.

I like them both (AST - STM) but my favorite is STM, because its more ST and less stock techs. And so it is suited better for role-playing, which I prefer.

BTW. Maybe an idea to start such a new game (STM / Role-playing)

Somebody interested ????????????????

No doubt everyone appreciates the work you do on the mods. I look forward to playing both when I get the game!

Hi,

I got the STM 1.51 patch yesterday, did not take a look but will do that in a minute.

But again:

Who is interested in an Star trek roleplay (STM 1.51)

Please sign up here, will setup the game in a couple of days. But need at least 10 players.

When you sign up, also let know which race you want to play.

Federation
Klingon
Romulan
Cardasian
Ferengi
Dominion
Borg
8472
Kazon

All others are welcome too, but these are needed.
