I believe I've found a way to make sure the AI consistently uses its tech to develope new ships throughout the game. I have been setting the Max # of ships to 200 and the Max # of units to 5000. When I am at war with the AI (hence killing lots of its ships
) it seems to respond with its highest tech levels in ships - whereas before I set the ship # to 200 it was constantly throwing inferior destroyers and light cruisers that it had mass produced early in the game. Now I'm regularly seeing cruisers and such with very few of its LCs and destroyers. Maybe it has nothing to do with it (lol) but it sure seems to make a difference... Does anyone who sets it to 300 + for the number of ships see a difference?
