if everything's so bad, maybe we should build a couple colony ships, find a warp point and warp outta here! hopefully we won't run into any enemies armed with APBs - our colony ship won't have shields.

That article had a lot of "bad stuff" but absent was any real facts, figures, or general proof.
I'd suspect it's just some person pushing their agenda.
However, anything in large amounts can be harmful. As usual, the good 'ol balanced diet works best.
