Thanks for the info i odered the game saturday from chips and bits about 30 cetns more then from shrapnel with shipping but ill get it by thursday .

I never played MOO2, but I played the hell out of the original MOO.

I liked the alien races a lot more in MOO, they were just somehow more appealing. Who were the catgirls, the Mrrshan?

The other thing is graphics, and even as old as MOO was, it still spanks SE4 there. There is not one single animation in SE4, anywhere; everything is flat, static bitmaps.

But in terms of actual pure gameplay, SE4 is a somewhat better game, and certainly more flexible.

I still have the original MOO on my HD; got a bargain bin copy a few years ago as a Christmas gift. I still play it occaisionally when I'm in the right mood. I like the research allocation bars and completion time uncertainty in it, and the personality in diplomacy.

You remember the Mrrshan correctly.

SE4 is absorbing the biggest share of my free time, though. I've only barely begun to explore it. I'll take gameplay over flashy animation if I have to choose between them. And the static art in SE4 is still gorgeous.
