Re: Over 100 mines/sector
no mods
well there were mines of more then one design, but they were not *my mines* as in- I didn't design them- as the other player donated a mine layer filled with his mines to me and I then layed the mines for him... this saves time.
but I don't believe the mines were withouth warheads... I can check though, I still have that turn saved somewhere

Re: Over 100 mines/sector
Yes I checked again and I'm looking at that turn right now. There is an ENM fleet sitting on top of 18 (not 30, I got the numbers a little confused before) of my mines (my flag on them) and they are of Medium size and each of them has 3 Mine warheads class III on it.

Re: Over 100 mines/sector
Well, I just did a test now. I had two allied races mine the same sector, 100 from 1 race, 78 from the other. An enemy fleet with 100 minesweeping capability was completely destroyed by entering the sector.

Juri, is this a PBW game? What game/turn. I'll check it out.

Re: Over 100 mines/sector
Just a wild guess
Could it be those ships are engineless wrecks from the encounter with your buddy’s minefield?
With the way the mine damage is distributed in the new patch maybe ships without no movement don’t get to be “transferred” to the next minefield.

Re: Over 100 mines/sector
The same thing happened to me once against the AI, as one of their ships managed to get in the same sector as a mined planet without any problem. However, it was an AI, so it could be one of the peculiarities linked to the AI. (Such as its ability to build facilities on the turn it colonizes a planet)
There was nothing like entangled minefields however, so if both events are linked, it may mean that there is *something* lurking in how mines are handled by the game.

It is a PBW game yes, named "3rd Cross-galaxy transwarp access Hub"
it happened in turn #69, I´m player "The Star Federation". Find a system named "Bizzet", there are a couple dozen ships in a WP at the top of that system over 18 of my mines.
I´m not at my regular comp. now so I don´t have access to that game file... but if you wish I can send it to you if you have problems looking it up on PBW.
thanks.
