Re: All Time favorite SE moment
Any time i manage to outwit an AI - or when they are attacking me from all directions and i leave him a few suprises (mines, sats, fighter squadrants hiding in a storm - opaque to scanners (in 4 x 200 Groups) and he brings his main invasion and attack fleet through and i spring forward and he has missiles only and he gets completley routed - then within 3 game years i have 60% of his empire.
When i get cloaking and send raiding ships, 1 attack ship, 1 repair ship, 1 boarding ship and 1 space yard ship in a grouping with 1 carrier with 100 fighters and raid behind his emeny lines (colony ships, pop transports and troop transports and 100% shut down his offensive moves)
Oh when you send a cloaking ship deep behind enemy lines into his main system of power with a destroy sun and blow his system up. Usually causes a withdrawl and easy victory.
Although i have modded my games now so troops are easier and cheaper for him to research (AI) and they stick more to invasion instead of glassing - makes the game more interesting.
Oh Last but not least winning a 255 system game against 3 Hard AIs with maxed out racial traits - they can be long and tough and lat about 1 month.

Re: All Time favorite SE moment
During a sweet game, trade treaties went up to about 50%. I was in Last place but because of all the resources I was getting (about 1 million a turn) I could build a space yard and multiple space stations on nearly every planet. I got into a war when I wanted to spice up my turns and another race was taken planets in my space. We both built massive fleets (I had at least 2 fleets with 300 Battleships) and because of the warppoints everywhere and the preponderance of nebulas the game turned into a totally strategic war. Research was even. Resources were even. We both had huge fleets. Every turn I logged in wondering which direction he took and which fleet of mine could ambush him. The totally strategic game made a difference from the usual micro-management task.

Simple,
The moment I installed this game and played it for 5 minutes I knew it : 'THIS IS THE GAME I WAS LOOKING FOR'
That was a very good SEIV moment

As Intimidator posted. This, and
my first Proportions game is my most memorable and I lost that game to the PvK Hive.

Every time I load up a new mod and I get that same feeling I got when I first installed SE4....
"Wow... What surprises lie in store NOW?"

I'll second that one. I'm in the middle of my first single player game of the STM. Wonderful.
My greatest, fondest memory is when playing the Galactic Empire in the 5 Seas of Stablity game. I was on the losing end of a military operation. I had an enemy fleet approaching my home system with only 5 battleships to defend the WP. The fleet attacked with 25 warships. Imagine my surprise when I opened the game turn and found that my ships had survived undamaged, while the attackers were space dust. The next turn, I got an OCC message from the other player complimenting me on my ship designs.
