Good news... You will have time to submit your first turn... You have 2 advantages. 1 your 6 hours ahead of me so it will not start until the 16th for you and you will have the allocated time to do your turn.

David G and At... Great answers. Lots of love for the se community went into this tourny. Even if you can only play for a little while due to commitments. It would be well worth it as most of the prizes are random anyways. And it is a great way to support PBW and the upcoming SEV universe.

We could even look at a 5 planet start to really speed up the games....

Kana we now have 6 players signed up.

And yes your right with the fact that the tourney is not well known yet.

I surely didn't mean to cast any doubt on the Tourney by my (perhaps) pessimestic observations. I guess I judged it by the kind of reaction that Geo usually gets when he Posts an idea for a tourney

As for a five planet start, that is fine but - are you going to ban the Talisman (pleeeaaassseeee - pleading tone!)? On a 3 planet start you can have it by turn 40 with ease (and have LCs, guns, PD, shields, etc). And with mines, missile ships and boarding parties it is possible to defend yourself till then. With 5 planets I guess by turn 30? (haven't tried it yet).

Lets ban the talisman and make the tourney one that tests overall game play, not just can you survive till T-Turn?

It's a "one winner" game and any players in their right mind would NOT allow such a dangerous player to make it to the "Talisman" point. I'd never ally with one. AND, there is no trading, so they are on their own. In other words, expecting racial points to lower Aggression...hehe...can you spell "ripe for the picking"?

I know how you feel about the Talisman but...I'd LOVE to find myself beside one and have a treaty with another person that borders them

.

You're on!

You can get it too quickly with that many planets. The no trading helps the Talisman more as that puts everyone in the same boat, where as you might usually get the situation where no non-religious people will trade with the zealot (such as NGC 4 where I had to research ice tech).

And who said you have to lower aggression? I know it is the standard set up but there are other things...

I am not saying that taking the talisman is not risky, especially if you have a good/experienced player nearby. But, I think you can defend long enough to then be un-killable.
