Re: NASY is BACK ON LINE
GP, did you have to pay your local Phone Company for access to their network in order to become your own ISP? If so how much did it cost?

No extra cost. Just standard DSL user but then I did get in early. Which also gave me 8 IP numbers I could use, AND reverse dns for them. Pretty powerful stuff.
I think they may have changed that package since then. There is an ISP local to me (northern california) that offers a DSL package with IPs.
I should have been clear that I am my own ISP. But I dont charge other people for ISP services. There shouldnt need to be any special arrangment if you dont charge people. You might want to ask though since some of them do nasty things like block port 25 (email server port) to make sure you use the dsl only for yourself.
If they do have a problem then they probably would tell you that you need a business DSL line but thats not bad anyway since it tends to be faster and matched speeds instead of the usual home-user arrangment of giving you more download speed than upload speed. (384/384 instead of 384/192)

Re: NASY is BACK ON LINE
That must be a troll. I cannot imagine a serious company sending lawyers on the tails of fans.
Think of it, if you do a star war mod or a star trek mod it is just some added advertising for their brand. Naa, will be a troll, but ISP tend to shoot first and ask questions after to avoid prosecution.

Re: NASY is BACK ON LINE
Just like what happened with Angelfire, Spaceports is proving to be a real PITA.
They refuse to re-activate my site. They won't respond to any emails that I have sent. I really wish I could get my hands on the little bastard who caused this.

Re: NASY is BACK ON LINE
Ok, the issue with the models has been resovled. Now they are saying I was shut down because I exceeded the 1 gig transfer limit. Odd, I had paid for ad removal to I get 5 gig transfer a month.
/me beats head against wall.

Re: NASY is BACK ON LINE
All sorted out and back on line. However I will be working on moving the site to a more control friendly location. Thank you all for your support and postings.
