Contrary to what you were taught, those speed limit signs do NOT represent the maximum speed you may drive with lesser speeds being allowed. In fact, quite the oppossite. In reality, they represent the slowest speed you may drive without people getting mad at you.

AMEN! (and depending what city you're in, even doing the speed limit has a good chance of getting you the finger or "looks")
