Re: Who\'s going to buy?
I think that is what is going to drive DO sales. The ease of moding will result in a large amount of user mods, which will result in a high replay value, which will increase sales. It's a forumla that has worked very well for Malfador with Space Empires IV, and it makes sense that they have tried to tap into it with a new game.

Re: Who\'s going to buy?
I've preordered a copy. I agree with the comments that DO looks like it'll be the easiest-to-mod rpg game yet. Without that aspect, indeed, it'd just be a decent old school rogue-like (with some inventory issues.) But with the randomization + modability (a word?), it seems like it'll have a long shelf life. It's true RSII has both these features, but it looks like the time involved in creating a new "world" from scratch will be immensely shorter with DO.
All in all, I'm expecting to see lots of creative things come out of the mods to it, including some mods of my own hopefully.

Re: Who\'s going to buy?
I broke down and ordered it. I'm hoping the inventory issues get fixed, and that a strong user community is formed here. After looking at the data files it does seem pretty easy to change stuff so I'm hoping we will see some cool things created by the Users. I have RuneSword2 and Space Empires4G, so I know the dev support will be great!

Re: Who\'s going to buy?
Hi Everybody,
If you've got comments about the game, or suggestions for future patches, just email them in to us at do@malfador.com. We are willing to go to what ever lengths are necessary to foster a vibrant modding community. Don't like the inventory system, we can change it.

Re: Who\'s going to buy?
Just ordered it.
I took a look at the files and liked what I saw. I like the Forest music, and feel that this game has a lot of play potential Additionally, it looks like a game that I can teach my nephews to play, and that alone is well worth it too me.
I look forward to the game Aaron. And thanks in advance for the support.
