I think I had a similar problem when I tried running the demo on an NT4 machine. I believe NT only supports DirectX up to either Version 5 or 6 which is not good enough for DO's DirectX7 requirements.
I figured the error Messages was due to the DirectX incompatibilities but your situation may be different.
BTW I got the demo to work on Win 98 SE running DirectX 8.0
Thanks Mlai, but I think my prob is a little different. I'm running Win 95 on an old machine though I do seem to have met all the minimum requirements. Anyway, I sent all the data off to Aaron. I have a hunch he will get it solved. He's like a terrier with stuff like this. :-)

I get the same error Messages, and crashes to desktop. I'm running WindowsXP professional, have the latest direct X upgrade, and it crashes about 3 minutes into the demo.
