Unpickable doors bug the hell out of me. That sort of ruins the whole point of being a thief because lockpicking usually becomes a matter of getting to trivial treasures and not past the important parts of the game. What's the point in being a thief if you can't unlock the doors you _really_ want to get past?

Well, the point is locks that cannot be picked by conventional means . Think of magic portals that have to opened with some sort of artifact or spell. A lockpick would not be much help in that case.

Speaking of doors, are thieves the only ones who can detect secret doors? How is my fighter able to find them? Haven't come across this yet, but I was wondering all the same.

My lvl 13 Paladin has found a couple of secret doors, quite by accident. I haven't found any rhyme or reason as to why....
