the guy which made the mistake was from a prety obscure Online mag. The reviews big sites were more 'educated'.

Well they dont deserve a free copy I agree. But my thought was to try and get rid of the bad reviews before people started searching for it.
The cost of one copy when compared to the loss of a few buyers.

That's irrelevant. Liking a game, disliking a game - these are important things to include in a review, though I've given good reviews to games that I didn't like, because they seemed to be excellent specimens of genres that I found boring. But reviewing a TBS on the assumption that it is an RPG, or reviewing a pickup truck based on how well it works as a pool toy, or high-octance gasoline based on its taste and smell - these things are just stupid. It doesn't matter how much you dislike a particular brand of gasoline, or whether you're a "high-octane" afficionado; you still shouldn't base your published opinion of its quality on how much you enjoy swishing it around in your mouth.
