Or a bit less if buying 2000, which has BSOD as infrequently as XP does... Of course, XP cheats and just reboots on the rare occasion that a BSOD occurs (which is a rarity).

But then, it can keep on going even if Explorer crashes, so things have vastly improved since the days of win 95.

Going Mac is definitely not an improvement, as you are paying a lot of extra money for nothing... you can get 95% of Mac OS X by getting a distro of Linux or FreeBSD or something. You just don't get the Mac bloat.

I forget which OS it is based on, but only the interface and some programs are Apple/Macintosh in it.
