So if some ppl here don't like the AI, they are trolls? You can't be serious.
Okay why is the AI weak? Hm well I have no idea, that how is this AI working, but I played 5 games with the demo.
First game against 2 AIs @ hardest level: I beat them both easily.
Second game against 4 AIs on map 2, hardest level, I won again.
Third game against 1 AI on map 1, hardest level, I killed the AI easily.
Fourth game against 4 AIs on map 1, I lost this game, but I had a 3 front war.
I won the 5th game again against 3 AIs. [Hardest level]
I am not a veteran player. What do YOU think? The AI is good or not?
I am almost a newbie, and I can beat the hell out of the demo AI. I tend to think that the AI is bad. If it is easy to kill the AI, what is your opinion about it than? Is it good? Guys even a newbie like me can crush the AI. Isn't this funny?
My question is: The AI will be better in the full game?
Other than the AI, the game is good. I love the graphics and the music is good too.
Too bad that I have no time for multiplayer, and I hate Pbem. It is too slow and annoying.

Those maps are too large to 3 to 4 players. I don't know whether it's because the limitation of the AI or it's because the small number of players favor human.
But I'm also curious... There is a 40 turns limit to the demo. Right? How can you even finish the game in such a short time? You just went for the throat and attacked the AIs on sight?

Wendigo,
Excellent post, with some very good points.
For those who are finding the AI easy, tell us what you did and how it defeated the AI. Even the best AI is still just a set of computer algorithms and can thus be improved, and that's exactly the information that will be required to continue developing it.
And if you can't let us know what you do, I'm afraid you can't blame people very much for thinking you are just posting to cause trouble. Support what you say, and you'll find a different reception than making totally unsupported, inflamatory remarks will bring you.

Psitticine, I've made a post about my games in the poll thread. I hope that it will be helpful. Yes, I do indeed think it will be very helpful! I posted my note here before I read your one in the poll thread, but your note there is exactly what I was thinking of. As Kristoffer has so obviously demonstrated, everybody does appreciate feedback with content.
Thanks!

Re: Is this game worth to buy? Hum.
I am not finishing games in 40 turns either. Maybe I'm just too slow.
AI bashing is so popular and it's impossible to defend against such vague accusations. I have seen some AI blunders in the demo (attacking me too soon with too few armies), but I have seen human opponents make the same mistakes. I just don’t have enough criteria to judge the AI yet (only played 5 games).
If citizens of this community want to make a relevant point about the AI, please consider doing so with detailed examples so that people like me (with no psychic powers) can follow along. This is the only possible way the developers can address your complaints. The AI detractors may be right, but so far the signal to noise ratio is low.
As for the trolls and fools; I can’t tell the players without a scorecard so I’ll lay off the labels. But in this community (like any other) you will be judged by your contributions. Personally, I don’t create much in this world so I try to be respectful of the creations of others (except for mimes who I seek to destroy).

Re: Is this game worth to buy? Hum.
An important note from another thread is that one of the AI "testers" was running the games with independents at 2. This would put a huge benefit on the side of human thinking. Im pretty sure I can totally kick most of the AIs at that setting.
Im not sure where the AIs are optimized. My scripted games in Dom 1 where I put the independents at basically a setting above 9 tended to make the AIs easier to beat also. A game setting of indep 7 seems to be strng for AI.
There are alot of other settings which can matter also, along with map size and the opponents in the game.

Re: Is this game worth to buy? Hum.
The AI is not that good as it supposed to be.
Why? Because take a look at the battle or spellcasting AI. Those are excellent. I think that Iw will enchance the strategical AI, just give them time.
Is this game worth to buy/preorder? Hell yeah! Until the AI will be better, play MP! You bet that if someone, than IW will try to do their best, and tweak the AI.
You should support them, and make suggestions/post ideas that what should be improved, instead of pissing off the ppl by comments like "I wont buy this crap, cuz the AI sux.".

Re: Is this game worth to buy? Hum.
The normal AI's seem to be about even with me...and I used to be able to beat difficult dom1 ai with EASE. So I really don't see what you people are doing to have such an easy time with the AI. Start a game with 8 impossible AI's, win, and then you have my permission to complain.
Also I'd like an example of a game that has such better AI...because I haven't seen any.
