Re: Two questions
HJ --
Plague spells get announced, although they look like the ordinary random events if memory serves.
Bane venom charms, Harbinger of Sorrows, et al, result in something like "A deadly disease is spreading in...".
I don't recall sites giving the same message, however. Perhaps you ran into a Chillsick Swamp (IIRC; forget whether death or nature) or some other disease-causing nature site.
The 'diseased' affliction generally doesn't spread, except from the BVC, and Woundflame (?), and similar items, or from inherently infectious units (Harbinger of Sorrows, Mummy come to mind).
If memory serves, disease can come from ordinary wounds just as with any other affliction.

Re: Two questions
Thanks for the replies all.
1) If not all disease-causing sites are death, then it's quite possible that something like that happened. I will have to see in the full game, since I ran out of turns, what exactly happened when I search the provinces with Acashic record.
2) Thanks JK for the explanation that it's bug. And thanks for the good news about the patch as well.
Now the only thing I am not too clear about are contagious diseases. So, let's say that one of your units gets diseased by Bane venom charm. The disease will spread to other units from the infected unit, even if the BVC is not in the same province any more? If so, what other sources can do this? (I'm sorry Taqwus if this is what you just explained, I am not sure I understand it)

Diseases are not contagious. Only the spell 'plague' is and only during battle. 'Plague' does not cause disease, but harm (it's a super plague spreading at incredible speed). Units diseased by the Bane Venom Charm are not sources of contagion. Only the charm is.

We're all excited about the coming patch, but... there're no more updates at http://www.illwinter.com/dom2progress.html
Is there some new, hidden progress site that requires hacking level 4 to find?

Re: Two questions
I figured they began working on a patch just as soon as Shrapnel was able to get them to let go of the release Version. It fits the Illwinter we have come to know and love.
But I wouldnt make any predictions about whats in the patch. Things we think are "simple" or "necessary" arent always what the devs get worked up to work on.

The old dom2progress page is not used any longer, it was a stuff left till the game is completed list. Hmmm... maybe we should remove it too, but updating web pages has never been one of Illwinter's strong points.
The new one requires hacking level 7 to find, because it isn't even located in the illwinter province.
