How many people use static pretenders?
I know that you save a lot of starting points but aren't you handicapping yourself big time by having them? |

What do you mean by static? The ones that dont move? I dont tend to move my god around much even when he can so its not that big a deal.Quote:

Yes, the pretenders who can't move. Why wouldn't you move them? Don't you want to capitalize on his abilities in as many fights as possible? |

Well it certainly limits one's options! But it'd let you concentrate elsewhere, or at least catch up on your reading (i.e., do a lot of research). I've been tempted, for the variety, but haven't tried it yet.
I have played with pretenders who rarely moved, and even with tough pretenders, I usually have them spend most of their time not fighting except when needed. They're very valuable as researchers, spell casters, item forgers, and especially (for mages with many magical disciplines) as special site finders.

You can move them with teleport or cloud trapeze. The Spinx and to some extent the Monilith are worthwhile.

I thought that was going to be fixed (finally!) in the upcoming patch?Quote:

Immobile pretenders (aka "Rocks") are nearly indestructible, have very strong magic and dominion strength for their point cost. Not being able to move is the only downside they have - if that loophole isn't closed, they're too strong.

Who knows when Illwinter will get around to it, if ever.

The "rock" pretenders aren't so bad now that there are more points to spread around. Plenty of pretenders can be made almost as nasty and are still mobile.

Frankly I'd rather see them using their time fixing the battle reports so they show during fort fights, and so we can speed them up!!!
