				 Blessing Question
How does one go about blessing the troops? I see where there are all these cool abilities that blessing can convey, but I have not been able to figure out how to actually bless anyone. The manual omits the necessary procedure.
I see where priests can bless units for the duration of a battle. Is this the only method, or is there one with more permanent results?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

				 Re: Blessing Question
There are two spells, Blessing (Divine 2) and Divine Blessing (Divine 4) which will give either a group of units or your entire army a blessing> Then units who are sacred will get the blessing effect of the pretender. |

				 Re: Blessing Question
To hammer that in, ONLY sacred units can be blessed by priests. The prophet is always blessed, and any commander wearing a Shroud of the Battle Saint is also blessed, regardless of being sacred.

				 Re: Blessing Question
This is my biggest discovery of the day. I had thought Sacred troops automatically received their Pretender's level four and nine bless effects. Can these spells only be cast in combat?
Do the priestly blessings go away after each fight or will augmented stats stick to the sacred troops permanently?

Keir made a post once where he stated, "My two best hero's are my first Herse, Grodvitner, who has tough skin and a protection of 23 and the Herse Gymer who has quickness."
Are these the result of a Pretender's blessing? I believe they are not, since they differ, but am not sure.

 Thanks, again, for your time,
 Aikamun

				 Re: Blessing Question
There is a magic item (a shroud) that will give a commander automatic bless. It takes the place of his armor so you need to consider who best to give it to. If they are front-line troops then instructions of bless then stay behind troops works well. They will cast bless then backup.
Bless has to be recast in every battle but if you have a monk/priest they dont have much else to do. I script them to cast bless first thing then set the just to cast so they can best decide what to do next. I also try to have my sacred units always start the fight standing next to someone who can bless. Its also a good idea to make sure that NON-sacred troops are standing somewhere else so that your sacred troops can all stand close to the caster.

Those are heroic abilities gained by being in the Hall of Fame.

				 Re: Blessing Question
There's also a unique sword that blesses its wielder with holy rage, but it's unforgeable and thus requires either luck or vast magical research and expense to get.Minor note: Pretenders don't get blessed, even when wearing the shroud.

				 Re: Blessing Question

Your Prophet always has the Blessing in effect (while in battle, but I don't think it matters much outside of battle). But maybe Keir's comments are about Heroic effects.Quote:
