Which map were you playing?

Would change playing Abysia completely.
The big advantage of the Blood of Humans theme is the strategic move 2 HI. They are pretty awesome at 13gps 28res. Considering most other HI move 1 I reckon Blood humans infantry would be canidates for some of the best HI out there.

I'm not taking into account the ones with two handed weapons and shields as they won't be around long I suspect.

Your idea would be most advantageous for the main theme which is very slow strategically.

To be honest I find Abysia overpowering after playing Tien Ch'i BK and S&A so I'm not sure it needs much. One thing is that the Blood of Humans theme should treat Heat 2 as it natural scale and not get the 5% income penalty.

Cheers

I'm sure we can agree that Blood of Humans needs something. This doesn't detract from it's "No Missle weapons" variety; if that is IW's decision.

Abysia is strong; I admit, but you've been in the same situation as we all have, with their mobility issue.

I can't see why they wouldn't ride those beasties when they are immune to fire. Otherside Salamanders are pretty much "Fire and Forget" units. They don't have much survivability.

It wasn't as much a real "This is a good idea" as much as it was releasing my frustration.

The pro-18 HI are very nice. However that seems to be the only real attraction of the entire theme. It's lacking IMHO. I wish Abyisa could get the old non-sacred lava warriors back (they rocked!).

ANYTHING would seem overpowered compared to TC's lesser themes. I haven't found the slightest use for them yet.

I've just been playing around with the Cyclops with Earth9 and Air3 to try and make the fireball thing work and as a by-product the Lava Wariors are massacring there way across the map with prot19 going to 21 when wounded. I did lose one battle in which they ran away without taking any casualites facing longdead horse - odd huh. Thats no casualties before or during the rout.

Fair point, well made. Well maybe not Mictlan as it starts way worse than Barbarian Kings which is reasonably fast out of the blocks.

Still I haven't given up on my plan to get a serious army of HC together and rout my opponents in a terrifying charge lead in by dispossed spirits. The casualities in the pursuit could be great and at heart I'm a Cavalry/Chariot general and find all this HI a little unsatisfying.

I do agree Zen that Blood of Humans could do with some improvement and I likewise find Salamanders very blah, blah, blah. I'm just suffering from post Tien Ch'i power overdose having rampaged around the map with berserk Lava Warriors and ultra tough HI. I reckon the thing Abyssia really needs is the old Moloch back. Without the ability to use Devils lead by Demonbred in the early game its just not the same anymore. I want my devil generator back!

Cheers

Lesser?!

You just don't know the feeling of satisfaction of not losing your entire army to half of an opponents. Or praising Allah that you found a Hoburg X-bow palace that you can't afford a Castle on while simultaniously wondering if you should empower that Druid so he can cast call of the wild.

THESE ARE THE DAYS OF OUR LIVES.
