Yeah, sometimes this kind of trick to translation doesn't work too well.
There's this play in French where there's a pretentious character who tries to impress with his lore, and he says something like:
Omnis a Deo scientia. Omnis: All. A Deo: Science. Scientia: Comes from God. All science comes from God.
(bonus points to any non-Frenchman who identifies the play)

That's not the name of the play as I knew it, but it does take place in (a very fictitious) Poland.
