Re: Aran - The land of strife
Well, I am interested in theory. Could you, however, give us an idea of what time zone you're in ? I am in France, and my evenings and late nights (when I am free and willing to play) may not match at all with other peoples'...

Re: Aran - The land of strife
Ok i am going to go ahead and set a time for 9p.m MST GMT-7 tonight Friday, Jan 23rd. I will be updating this thread with people who want to play and nation assignment. I will be putting up IP and port information a little be later in the day probably around 6p.m. my time. BTW i play C'Tis.
I am thinking of starting off with
# of Players: 8
Map: Aran
Master Password; Enabled.
Settings
Independants: 7
Special Site Frequency: 45
World Richness: Normal
Random Events: Common
Score Graphs: Info on Other Nations Disabled
Hall of Fame: 10
Research: Standard
Victory by Provinces 25
I am open to suggestions on all of this. I will start a list of who is playing which nations once I receive an e-mail from you confirming you have a real e-mail.
NOTE: I will probably be doing this quite a bit I think I have found a new addiction Since this is the first time be prepared for some issues, hopefully it will all be really easy but experience has always taught me otherwise. In the e-mail you send me please tell me which OS you use and what if any chat programs you use, I definetly want to have a chat room as well as the game running.

Maybe a little less aggressive and more understanding? At least for some others around who arn't as flexible

Yeah i am not trying to be agressive I know it kind of comes off that way but I have been doing this for a long time and have an idea of what to expect.
My key key key point in all that rambling is that if there is some problem or issue you can communicate it to the playing group. I have spent hours waiting on people only to have them come back and say they had some problem with family or something and if they could have taken 2 seconds to send an e-mail or chat msg we wouldn't have wasted a ton of quality playing time. Connections just plain die, computers crash, children need IMMEDIATE attention, I understand all of these things and am not some cold-hearted person expecting someone to pray at the altar of the game. Just expecting people to try their best to be considerate.
And i definetly understand working on other stuff during turn downtime but that can always cause problems thats why if a problem does happen because your running multiple apps you at least come clean on whats going on so we can fix the problem. And you at least know to not obliterate your bandwith while playing a network game.
