Why does this game cost so much?

I wish I had bought this game 2 months ago, instead of wasting money on other games that I thought would consume my time but didn't... Not only is the game very interesting and challenging, but it has limitedless play and possibilities. Especially with all the open sourcing and editing players can do, not to mention that when you come to good for the AI you can play against fellow players from all over the globe... $50 for a game without ends is a small price to pay. I paid $40 for Masters of Orion, played it for a week and uninstalled it... Now that sucked.

Though, I guess I could put the cost of this game on my list on why this game sucks
