Just because you only use them one way doesn't mean they need to be changed to accomidate your playstyle.

Right now Magic feels lacking, but I don't think it's the MR portion of it at all.

Otherwise C'tis would start with 2000 Income, 50 Death Gem Income and a pile of sauromancers.

Haha! Argitoth can only dream of that. Imagine what that would do for his disintegration strategy.

I have to echo Pocus here. The Magic scale exactly what it 'should' do, IMO. It drastically increases your research speed and the effectiveness of your spells in combat (by saturation alone, if need be).

To ask that it should be changed to suit your strategy is rather poor, IMO. One of the most important aspects of any strategy game is that it is balanced, and you are blatantly asking that the current balance be shifted in your favor. Why not simply ask to win every game you play in? It's effectively what you're asking for, to me.

If anything, the Order Scales are too powerful, not the Magic Scales too weak. That just me, though.

You are not only judging me, but you are looking at the situation totally opposite of how I am looking at it, though it is ok to have a different viewpoint.

I have realized through my experience of Dominions 2 that a change of 1 magic resistance through the magic scales might as well be 0. It hardly has any effect on the game.

Also, my disintegration strategy can no longer be called that. I've improved the way I play so greatly that disintegration has become flavoring on the cake.

If only the rest of us had the same single-minded determination to play the same nation in every game....

Only teasing.

Damn, these forums need some better smilies. I can't express my tounge-in-cheek joviality with any degree of accuracy whatsoever.

Mr. Argitoth,

>I use +3 magic scale for my strategy and -3 >magic resistance would be extremely beneficial >to me

I am not judging you. I am using the above statement that you made in this thread to express my opinion on the matter, which is to say, "Asking that game balance to be changed to suit your own strategy is rather poor, IMO."

I note that you did not say, "would be extremely beneficial to magic-rich nations", "people who like to play with a lot of magic", or anything else. You explicitly made it a personal matter with 'your strategy' and 'to me'. This is in very poor taste to me, and that is all I said.

I also made no mention of your oft-mentioned, oft-vaunted, and oft-derided so-called 'disintegration strategy'. If your comments in response to my post regarding this were meant to apply to me, you were in error. I was addressing your own words of 'my strategy', and I really did not care much what strategy it was.
