Blood slaves on the battlefield
...tend to have short lives, especially when in use by Abysia which makes 'em Extra-Crispy. Would it be possible to grant blood slaves the corresponding national temperature preference/immunity that the bulk of the nation's population has?
(IIRC, any pref of >= 2 in magnitude also matches with immunity; Caelum, Jotunheim, Abysia come to mind at least.)

Re: Blood slaves on the battlefield
Hmmmmm good point. I was headed in here to drop the standard "use scouts to hold them until you need them" hint. But you make a good point. Abyssian slaves should probably be at least alittle heat tolerant.

Re: Blood slaves on the battlefield
Or if you could place them where you wanted them on the battlefield, like other units, you could opt to place them well away from any commanders with damaging auras.

Re: Blood slaves on the battlefield
I thought all units did get their nation's heat preference (if not immunity), no?
I guess that doesn't really help blood slaves not catch fire, though - they just have less fatigue while they burn to death.
I tend to think it would be good if units automatically avoided harmful auras. This would help Abyssian blood slaves, and also many of the other silly aura deaths that sometimes occur over-much.
It would still be neat if Abyssian blood slaves were different.

Nope. My Nataraja with Caelum has +2 encumbrance for being in a cold 3 dominion.

Re: Blood slaves on the battlefield
That's not just because Caelum heat/cold preference is backwards in 2.06, is it?

Re: Blood slaves on the battlefield
No, it's because the Nataraja isn't a Caelian, and therefore has no innate cold resistance. If you give him a cold resist item, that encumberance penalty vanishes, as anything cold resistant suffers no penalty for cold. Caelians also appear to suffer no penalty, perhaps because they're all Cold Immune. Are Raptor Caelians immune to the fatigue penalty also despite not being cold immune?
However, the Nataraja is NOT a Caelian at all, so doesn't benefit either way.
