I had it half right: thread

" Magic eyes do work as prosthetics for commanders who have lost an eye in battle. It doesn't cure their "lost an eye" affliction, but it doesn't cause the "lost the other eye as well" affliction, nor blindness, giving you a commander as intact as a healthy one who gets a magic eye installed. "

It's all fun and wargames until someone loses an eye.

It's an interesting idea, but AFAIK, the game presently does not support the "curing" of afflictions by adding magical items
Well, that was not my intention. The replacement part should not cure the affliction, but give new abilities similar to those magical eyes. As an example, I would introduce the sword arm. Basically an average Sword weapon which negates the affect of lost arm and adds some strength.
Another thing I thought of would be the "Stinger", basically the manticores sting attack or whatever it is called.

Like the eyes, those parts should be placed in the misc slot. And like the eyes, a commander with both arms who gets an mechanical arm attached should lose one arm as affliction.

It's a good flavorful idea and was suggested on the other thread linked below. As I recall, one of Illwinter also liked the idea. It may or may not be implemented any time soon, but it doesn't hurt to mention again as a neat idea.
