Re: Tip of the day!: Forge Bonus *FALSE*
Well I just tested it with a Hammer of the Forge Lord, Hammer of the Cyclops, a Dwarven Hammer, Black Priest, and Master Smith and have not found any of the aforementioned to let you cast Construction Spells of any type for less than it's cost using and wearing Forge Bonus items.

But I did, mandragoras costed 5 gems and thistle mace costed 5 gems. If that's not enough testing then I dunno what is.
Well, you could have approached it scientifically. You had a hypothesis: That forge bonus reduced construction ritual costs in general. Then you could have tested it in other situations than the specific one that caused you to invent the hypothesis. E.g. you could have tried Ulmish Smiths, or leaders with a Dwarven Hammer, to see whether your general hypothesis did actually hold.
Instead, you presented conjecture as fact, and easily disprovable fact at that.

Edit: Not my fault if the cyclopse hammer is buggy... or if every other hammer is buggy!!! HA! [/QB]

Actually, it is not buggy. As just tested with 2.08, the Cyclops Hammer does not give this fictional ritual bonus either, not even when making the Mandragoras that were your example.
Nice try.
Ah, well, it sounds as if either
- your installation is buggy
- my installation is buggy
- your memory has failed you in this instance
- you are deliberately pulling our legs in a not particularly amusing fashion
Here's hoping for 1)

Re: Tip of the day!: Forge Bonus *FALSE*
If only I still had the saved game. But I swear madragoras price was halved, what the hell!!! I'm going to test it soon... but, how could I be so mislead? it's down-right strange.

Re: Tip of the day!: Forge Bonus *FALSE*
I think I know what happened.
I set my mage to forge a thistle mace. Went from 24 nature gems to 19 nature gems (without knowing). Then I said, "Hey, lemme see if the forge bonus works for Mandragora" so I check my gems. 19. Arrite. So I selected the mage to construct Madragora. Then I had 14. 24 - 10 = 14!!!
daaaaamn.... Do not make fun of me!
edit: Kristoffer, you should have said something instead of going berserk, heheh.

DAMNIT. This would have been quite a neat feature. Honestly, think about it: It would have been okay if creatures/constructs from the construction tree would have given more effects with forge boni (like dwarven hammer or ulm smith inherent boni)
Nah anyway,...no reason to be hostile, Zen

Re: Tip of the day!: Forge Bonus *FALSE*
A real funny side effects of Forge Bonus is that they work for Blood items requiring slaves !
Can't see how a hammer can make you spill blood more efficently ... maybe with nails ?

I can just see those 0.5*(0.5*25)~6 earth gem Iron Dragons that Ulmish Master Smiths with Dwarven hammers and Forge of the Ancients would populate the world with.
On second thought - not so neat an idea.
