I think it sounds too complex for its limited usefulness. I always improvise the number of gems on my commanders when I leave a lab and I wouldn't want the same amount of gems everytime. Of course I don't play single player and I guess it might be more useful there when you can have lots of gems to spare.

Any new stuff had better not make the game any more complex either and a thing like this would need some documentation and thus making the game harder to learn.

Sounds great ... if possible.

I tend to run into more headaches involving blood hunting because pooling the slaves stops your sacrificing (unless you go around and load them back up manually).

What I'd like to see is the ability to set a "blood hunt and pool" command such that anyone on blood hunt would automatically put any captured slaves into the lab (if available). Another fix would be to make anyone with "sacrifice" orders ignore the pool command.

Either of these would greatly reduce the amount of micromanagement involved in heavy blood magic use.
