Is it possible that not all afflictions are created equal when it comes to being healed?

Recently in SP play, I had a pretender get feeble minded. For 10+ turns I had my hero w/ heal troops ability healing, and while all kinds of troops/commanders were getting healed of their afflictions, it never worked for my pretenders FM. For maybe as much as 5 turns I was running GoH, still no luck. Then I forged the Chalice, ran the game two different times, once the pretender was cured in one turn, and the other (iirc), he was cured in two.

Does anyone know if FM is more resistant to healing than other afflictions? I suppose its possible this was just a run of bad luck, but I tested this enough to seriously doubt that, at this point. Or, is it the case that the "heal troops" command (said in the description to be identical to Arco's priests), won't ever heal FM? And/or might GoH have the same limitation?
A few thoughts:
- was your pretentder undead? I don't think healing units like Arco priestesses or faerie queens can heal undead - only GoH or the Chalice.
- I believe GoH is dominion-dependent - was your pretender in a low or negative domain province?

No, in fact it was a high (4 going to 8) domain province.

Thanks for the replies everyone - this confirms what I suspected by my limited test. After this, I'm fairly inclined to believe that believe that FM is harder to heal than at least some other afflictions, although my 10 turn test is not sufficient to come to any conclusive judgements (as Arryn says, Murphy's Law applies ).

Ten turns is a meaningless test. I believe the priestesses healing has a 10-20% success rate, chalice seems about 50% and GOH no idea as I have never used it.

Over 10 turns a 20% success rate is 89% likely to work & 10% is 65 % likely to work giving very significant chances that that the pretender would keep his feeblemindedness.
The fact that the chalice cured him in 1 or 2 turns seems to have been overlooked, because as is human nature, we look at the corroboratory evidence not the contradictory evidence. I have noticed never healing wounds being sticky under the chalice but have not seen it enough to be sure it was not just chance.

edited to add (hmm this comes over a bit strong sorry but then I miss Norfleet)

A related question:

If you take the Allfather as a pretender, can you heal his "Lost an Eye" affliction? It seems like this one particular instance should be harder to heal than most.

no you can't. also void lord's blindness, and likely other such.

2X seems low to me for neverhealing. perhaps it is 2X for the "serious afflictions" (since, actually, I haven't had all that much difficulty getting rid of feeblemindedness), but neverhealing wound just doesn't like to go away.

as well, GoH doesn't seem to me as strong as the other methods (esp. the chalice), so you may well just have been somewhat unlucky.
