Sphereworld homeworlds?????
Can anyone give me a hand!!
I can't get the homeworld for a start world to be a ring/ sphere world.
I set up the map on the map editor for a sphere world homeworld and it only gives a huge or large world.
I only set up the first 6 empires for one, I click the empires can have different sized homeworlds button.
Please help me!!!!!!

Re: Sphereworld homeworlds?????
The problem with 'forced starts' (ie, pre-set starting places) is that the race atmosphere type and the planet atmosphere type MUST match. Otherwise the planet will 'morph' into a large planet of the race atmosphere type. This is probally happening to you. I had a map with Sphere/Ringworlds with forced starts and they worked quite well, as long as the races atmosphere's matched the planets. So when you load the .emp files make sure they are in that order (ie, oxy in oxy position, carbon in carbon position, etc.) and it should work fine.

Re: Sphereworld homeworlds?????
OTOH, the "semi-random" starts (I forget what the Map Editor calls them) were changed in one of the patches to only force the atmosphere to match, after people complained about this problem in previous threads. In the game where I'm playtesting my first edited map, my Icy/CO2 race's homeworld is a Gas Giant.

Re: Sphereworld homeworlds?????
Thanks!
It works if you match the type and atmosphere to the empire.
It really is funny to see all those mining facities and research buildings.

Re: Sphereworld homeworlds?????
All you have to do is number the sphereworld starting points carefully, then when you start your new game be sure to entire the selected races in numerical order to match the starting world's number.
