Bug? Rule I am unaware of? Am I just stupid?

I do not believe this is due to the latest patch. I have had similar events happen in 2.12 and earlier. I had sent similar saves in to Illwinter, and was told that that was odd behavior indeed, but that they were unable to pinpoint its source. Perhaps if you send the appropriate files, they will be able to learn more? It often involves teleportation, but not always. I have had a GoH'ed Vastness just ... disappear, and similar stuff.

I have the client side files, but I am sure the server side files are gone... Is it worth sending what I have to Illwinder?

My boyfriend is trying to reproduce the bug, with no luck so far. He thinks it involves the Gateway stone, which by the way costs me nothing like 160 gems, Panther, given that I have the construction site, the Forge of ancients global, and the Forge Lord's hammer :-)

Now I guess that I will finally learn WHAT heroes come back as.

I admit that I have never seen that gateway stone before. I didn't even know it existed, and it is not in the manual.

I am still wondering if the strange retreat behavior had anything to do with the fact that both heroes died in my battle replay. Is the ichytid lord still alive or did he die too? My replay showed him and the pretender escaping along with a handful of slyphs. All draconious died, which matched the battle report.

Also, one other thing. Did all four heores escape alive in your battle replay, Yvelina?

I call your attention to item 5.52 on page 61 of the manual: Gate Stone.

Well, don't that beat all. My manual does not have a page 61. The highest artifact on my list is 5.49, the magic lamp.

I wonder what else I am missing...

You're missing the back side of page 61 as well (pg 62). Artifacts go through 5.65.

I hate to point out the most obvious thing that comes to mind... but were you viewing a v2.12 battle with v2.13 dominions? If you were, and still have the turn available, i'd suggest loading up 2.12 dominions and having a gander at the battle again.
