Re: Access Viotion= CHASH
Does it look like this?
"Access Violation at address 004F3A5E in module 'Starfury.exe' Read of address 00000018"
I get this all the time playing the P&N mod. Mostly in campaign 2 and 3.

Re: Access Viotion= CHASH
Yup, same with me. I've never finished the P&N game because of it. I figure it's because I'm on a laptop with a 16 meg video card hardwired into it and the maker discontinued that graphic card, so no driver updates. If you find a fix, let me know.
I'd start with making sure you have the latest patch, then update your video drivers.
I've found several workarounds.
1st. if the crash happens in systems your moving through, you can use the cheat ~warpmap systemname~ where system name is the destination star system.
2nd. I save the game in a seperate file before visiting my contact. If I can't workaround the crash, I go back to before I accepted the mission and do a couple of trade or mercenary missions. sometimes it clears up over time.
3rd. there's also a cheat that let's you skip the mission you're on, can't remember it though.
this got me as far as the first few missions into the 3rd campaign.
Good luck

If you are using a desktop PC, you can certainly upgrade from your onboard video card. All it requires is disabling the onboard card in the BIOS and placing the new video card in an AGP or PCI slot (preferably AGP as it is better for video cards).

Re: Access Viotion= CHASH
Even with an integrated video card, the video drivers are not built in to the motherboard and are installed separately. Just find out what the card is and look for drivers for it.
