Re: Query about gifts and collapsing economies
Thanks Bearclaw and Roanon! That's one less problem to take care of. I merely need to handle the enemy fleets, and victory will be mine. Being outnumbered, outgunned, outwitted and outgunned is completely irrelevant; we shall prevail. Eventually. Hopefully. In our daydreams. In our wishful thinking dreams.
Lord Amon-Keria has refused to comment on the other declarations of the Collective; it is difficult to reply to anything when you are buried in the ruins of your palace, and quite dead as well. As such, there can be no peace, for lack of a diplomat to actually take care of this part. That, and a feeble excuse involving NGC3, and lessons gained from experience.
In NGC3, the enemies of Roanon were too peaceful, and left him grow too much. In NGC4, the enemies of Roanon were aggressive enough, but their bark was worse than their bite. Let's hope the enemies of Roanon will have both the will and the firepower to break his hegemony in NGC6. Even having Asmala on our side did not help in NGC3; what else is left for us to attempt?
Having a single resource converter was my mistake. On the other hand, it isn't as if I have much to convert these days; retrofitting these Warp Openers is expensive for my poor economy. That, and mean trade partners actually *request* organics or radioactives in exchange for minerals. Tsk, you cannot even get away with asking your neighbours one or two million minerals per turn for free these days.

Maybe you have asked the wrong neighbors
Well, at least you may have a small satisfaction from destroying my homeworld. At least temporary, it will be rebuilt. But we have many homeworlds...
But we rejoice about the epic battle where 60 brave ships from us dared to engage your 300 ship warfleet, ready to die, and half of them survived victourious. Truly heroic , and I just wanted to reduce your fleet to a size that is handable when it warps into another one of my home systems. Maybe I should write a story about this
And I always thought your talking about being outnumbered and outgunned was sheer exaggeration. Well at least the "outnumbered" part was. Has been. Unless you have another 300 ships hidden somewhere in your sleeve, I think it is over now. But it was really fun to actually have to fight and fear someone...
Will it actually make sense for me to enter NGC6 or will you all play "eliminate Roanon first, then start playing Space Empires?"

Re: Query about gifts and collapsing economies
I only took down thirty of your warships? I was under the impression you had more ships than that; but I didn't bother to count them. I had 250 warships there. *Huddles in a corner and cries*
Yes, it is more or less over for me. I will still be raiding here and there, but I am down to 150 ships. Annoying that. The outgunned part was sadly not an exaggeration as you can see. My ships were built for mass production, to act as emergency minesweepers, and to ram your ships, but... It didn't quite work.
Do enter in NGC6, and pick the Religious trait Roanon. And Crystalline while you are at it. You will have a very fun time with this kind of setup.

More about resource converters: If I recall it correctly, one resource converter can convert only 1 million resources in one turn. So if you need 1,4 million minerals more per turn that you can mine, you need 2 resource converters to satisfy that need.

Wasn't the workaround to just issue multiple orders to the converter?

No, that was for converting more than 64,000 at a time. IIRC 1.81 made it so that it would show a log of converted resources but then would only convert the first 64,000. That's when repeating the orders were nessesary. 1.91 makes it so that you get a log message for every 64,000 converted but don't need to repeat the orders. I've never tried converting more than 1,000,000 before so I don't know what would happen....

Re: Query about gifts and collapsing economies
You can convert more than 1,000,000 - you just cannot create more than 1,000,000 by conVersion with a single converter. Due to some strange roundings and/or these weird 64k single-steps, the actual limit when using level 3 facilities is converting 1,365,000 to 955,500.

Yes, the combat log is neither very informative nor very user-friendly to read. I didn't count your ships too. My fleet had 61 ships plus 2 minesweepers, now 29 plus the 2 sweepers are left. Well, about 10 of them are badly damaged, maybe this makes it better for you
Being organic, my ships are not the most efficient too, made for being built fast with an ideal mineral/organic balance. But baseship mounts really help, even for weak weapons. And having weapons with longer range than the enemy that deal the same damage at distance 8 as at point blank.
150 ships are still a lot *sigh* - First Speaker Roanon really does not have an easy enemy this time. Ok, 50 of them are about to be destroyed, means you still have 100 up your sleeve somewhere. Ok, where are my whips for the shipyard workers...
