Not! Nothing against the Forum mind you - but I am getting pissed off with SEIV updates. I updated my Version of SEIV to 1.9.1 (from 1.8.4) but not only would it not load my empire - it also wouldn't load any others. So I uninstalled and completely re-installed the game and applied the patch.

At that point it would load the other (stock) empires but I still had to re-do mine. Naturally all my ship designs were gone. No problem says I. Bull**** says SEIV 1.9.1 - I'm not going to show you your list in DefaultDesignTypes.txt. (i.e.: won't load that file). Instead is showing the unedited list (where in hell did that come from?

Then it crashed whilst trying to access a design in a saved (1.8.4) game!

So I uninstalled it again and tried to get back to 1.8.4 but the !@#$%^& installer stalls on finding the SEIV folder!!

Arrgghh! I shall go mad! Mad I tell you!!

That almost 100% certainly means your 1.84 game was modded to include extra components.

You need to reapply your mods.

I hear that and that's no surprise but what's up with the stall on finding the installed app?

How much of a stall was it?

The installer tends to take forever on my PC... enough that I was asking for a "cancel" button so I could just type it in manually.

I've got drives all the way down to letter J, crammed nearly full of junk I should be getting rid of, though.
