What do you use to draw these?

A program named DOGA. http://www.doga.co.jp/english/
There are a few download links, if they are still good, in the New Members Look Here threat at the top of the forum.
For this set I have reserved the privlage of nameing it to the one of the many people who donated to help keep AST and NASY sites on line for this year. The winner has been chosen and he has been PM'ed.
So hopefully within a few days the set will have a name.
In the mean time keep checking back to see the progress of it. Also I am working on two other sets, Race 2 and Race 3. These sets are in the very early stages of development and I am working on them as I have time and interest.
Normally once I have a general concept down I can finish a set within a few hours, but lately I just have not had the motivation to create. However, I did add the base images to Race 3 today.

Re: I\'m Working On A New Ship Set
I just did a major update to Race 3. and finsihed off most of the set. There are still 8 ships that I have not done yet, but I will get to them when I have time.
Take a look and let me know what you think.

Re: I\'m Working On A New Ship Set
Ohhhh, black ships in the sky! I remember this set from monumental "Last line" picture. Very good set (except the race portrait, which reminds me a ... well nevermind).

Re: I\'m Working On A New Ship Set
Race set 3 looks great, but where is the purple jellybean accelerator canon?
Did you use purple M&M's again?
Cheers!

Re: I\'m Working On A New Ship Set
I am not happy with the RP either, but it is the best I can at this time. I will most likely change it before the set is released.

I agree that the Race Portrait is cheesey, but the ships are very nice! The sense of a single unifying design philosophy is strongly felt but it's fairly easy to distinguish the different classes, and they all look 'sleek' or 'graceful' like you want SciFi ships to look. I'd like to see this design set modeled for SE V, along with that 'wedge' shaped imperial set from a few weeks/months ago.

Re: I\'m Working On A New Ship Set
Thank you all for the comments.
That imperial wedge set is actualy done. It was completed as a private set for a member of the forum. He gave me all the back story info for the set, but I lost the models when the comp crashed. I might have them on disk, but finding the right disk is the problem.
Race portraits are proving to be most difficult. And this set has the highest polygon count per model of any of my sets. The Dreadnought alone has over 100,000 polygons. Now that is detail.
Rendering the Troop Infantry image took nearly five minutes.
And yes, trees in the weapon platform give it a planet side feel that was lacking IMHO. I hope they are liked.
