Re: PBW Game idea
I'm going to give it a couple more days to see if anyone else joins. Then I'll need to send a message to make sure people upload their empires.

Upgrading from 1.49 to 1.91 is so simple. It takes like 5 minutes or less. Why wait? It doesnt screw up anything youve got going.

Re: PBW Game idea
Er, don't you know that 1.49 is pre-gold? To upgrade, he'd have to buy SEIV Gold. With SEV getting closer, why spend money on a game that would be abandoned soon?

Well, maybe not abandoned, but certainly played much less.

Re: Dimension X: Home World Wars
Last call for anyone interested in getting in on this game. We've got 11 players now. If more want to join that's fine, but that will be enough to make a decent go of it. I'm planning on starting the game as soon as we get the Last of the empire files uploaded, unless someone else jumps in before that.
To review the settings:
48 hour auto turns
10 Good homeworlds
No intel
2000 racial points
No use of colony tech, except to recolonize a homeworld that get's glassed.
I've decided not to use a mod for the game, except I will be making a server only mod to control the AI and keep it from making colony ships in case anyone misses their turns.
I also had talked about using the balance mod to make the map, but never made a decision on that. I need to make sure noone was planning on being a "none" atmosphere race if I'm going to do that.

Man, oh man, if we ever needed the on-ship research/intel suppliers, it would be now.

Re: Dimension X: Home World Wars
I thought this was too good not to share.
Very Minor spoiler if you have not met all(most) players.
I received a message from one player...
"You are a prey species. We do not treat prey species as equals worthy of trade."
