Not waiting for a reply, Flavius headed towards the door. Once the door shut behind him, Flavius gently rang the bell.

Seemingly alone, Flavius opened the pouch secured at his belt. He had long ago figured out how to circumvent the royal seal without giving himself away. Five gold crowns. Enough to bribe his way into the Senate, hire a hundred whores, and live like a King for the rest of his life. Flavius sneered. The fool Septimus was an idiot for wanting to bargain with the lizard people.

Flavius sealed up the bag. No, there would be a time and a place to get rich. But not now, while under invisible eyes. He cursed himself for not checking the bag earlier. Now with the lizard sorcerers around him, it would be impossible to take one of the coins.
