I don't know how often this strategy is used, but I'd imagine swarming a SC with blessed units has a high chance of making him cursed, a very unwanted trait for a SC.

But curse can also be given to him by any Astral 1 mage, and single Totem Shield can curse dozens of SCs. Going from B8 to B9 costs lots of points, and only gets your units a chance to curse the SC. I don't think curse is worth it. Combination of Horror Mark/Curse and/or Disease might, though...

Obviously swarming him with blessed units isnt such an efficient way, but if they are good blessed units you could also get a chance to actually hit him and do some damage (especially with that curse on him).
Im not saying its THE strategy, but it IS a possibility.

A mind-bogglingly impractical strategy, but a strategy nonetheless. If all blessings were meant to be created equal, I'm afraid blood-9 is a glaring oversight. As I am of the opinion that blessings were not meant to be equal in power, I fail to see the problem with this.

well stick a rune smasher,blood thorn, armor of souls, boots of quickness, a spell focus and a ring of sorcery on your blood 9 VQ pretender and you have the best sc killer/converter possible.
script him to hellbind heart*5 and if the enemys magic resistance is 21 you will have a 50% chance to control him with each casting =) .
The blessing effect is worthless though.

Blood Vengence, maybe Blood Vengence ( -1 / -2 ) would be nice. A little more thematic.
Oh, and powerful.
I would start considering Blood-9 blessing to be in the league as Water-9, Fire-9, and Nature-9.
Of course that still leaves Death, Air, Earth, and Astral as less potent blesses. However I don't mind that too much as each of these paths are widely considered excellent magic paths. Note: in some cases Earth-9 can be quite good.

Astral-9 can be excellent if you're talking about a lot of small sacred troops instead of a sacred supercombatant. I'm playing Marignon with 9-Fire, 9-Astral Baphomet, and the cheapie flagellants benefit a great deal from the astral-9 blessing. It keeps them alive long enough to deliver two solid whacks with their flaming flails, which is all that I ask of them.

Blood9 blessing gave blood vengeance once upon a time, it was ridicously powerfull.
