You already tried giving the satellite computer core a negative tonnage size, I assume? (AFAIK that doesn't work, but I haven't tested it since maybe SE4 v1.31 when I wanted to add Battle Pods like in MOO2

)

Add mounts for sats that reduce the size of components. Volia! You can have small sats!
