is assembler, i know a bit, but not enough to guess what all that stuff is...., it maybe (but i'm guessing), a problem with drivers, maybe video/sound card, you could try booting with a win98 boot disk and create manually another boot disk without any of win98 bootdisk stuff, just a "format a: /s" (where a: is you floppy drive) ofcourse you won't be able to use cdroms you'll have configure that yourself or copy the entire cd to the HDD
