I just realised I have no clue what it's for. I know what all the other system keys are for, but not that one.
It doesn't seem to prevent me from scrolling.

Although we have a use at my house for the scroll lock key, it is used to switch between two computers sharing the same monitor, keyboard and mouse... A KVM switch IIRC.
